What are Sajátsüti cookie cutters made of and how to clean them?
Our cookie cutters are made of PLA. This corn-based polymer is biodegradable thermoplastic. It melts at about 60 degrees Celsius. It's completely environmentally friendly product. It can be cleaned with detergent water up to 40 degrees Celsius. It is not dishwasher safe!
What kind of dough can the cutters be used with?
We send a recipe with every cutter. This is a basic recipe, but it can be seasoned with different spices. The cutter can be used with every type of dough that does not contain baking powder or baking soda, because of these ingredients the dough will grow during baking and the patterns can become distorted. You can find multiple recipes on our website, but tastes can only be limited by imagination.
What should you do if the dough sticks to the cutter?
First of all, calm down, there is a solution. The most important thing that the dough has to be cooled. It worth making the dough the day before baking and storing it in the fridge until use. Anyway, store it for a minimum of 2-3 hours because the butter needs to solidify. If the dough is hard enough, you can start making the cookies. We must stretch the dough thin, approx. 3-4 mm. If the dough thinner than this, the pattern won't appear, if it's thicker, the dough can stick easier.

One last trick... For the best results, you should sprinkle the top of the dough with a little bit of flour or powdered sugar. Don't be scared, it only looks complicated on paper, with practise it will become easier.
